East Port Properties First Recipient Of CPCI Real Estate Development Award Of Excellence

09 September 2014, St. John’s, NL – East Port Properties has been recognized as the first recipient of the Canadian Precast / Prestressed Concrete Institute (CPCI) Real Estate Development Award of Excellence.

“We’re thrilled to be receiving this inaugural award for the work at 351 Water Street in St. John’s,” said John Lindsay, President of East Port Properties. “This award is testament of our vision, commitment, and innovative approach to property development. It’s the first precast garage in St. John’s, and one of the most complex precast projects completed in Canada in the past several years.”

The CPCI Real Estate Development Award of Excellence recognizes outstanding contribution to the Canadian precast prestressed concrete industry in real estate development, architecture, engineering, innovation, education, sustainability, and change; for positive leadership, industry-altering development, and expansion; and for accelerating the growth of the Canadian Precast/Prestressed Concrete industry from within the real estate development community.

“For this project, we used almost all of the precast solutions in the Canadian industry,” continued Lindsay. “We used precast because we believe in the product – with true long value for the investment, 25 to 50 years from now it will look as good as it does today.”

The CPCI Real Estate Development Award of Excellence celebration is held annually to promote the precast concrete industry within the regions of Canada. The award recipients are chosen each year from the region where the CPCI Summer Board Meeting is held. The judging panel consists of CPCI Staff, the CPCI Chairman of the Board, and the regional CPCI Producer members.
