East Port Properties is a development, leasing and property management company that has been in business for over 30 years. In that time we’ve learned a few things – about property and development, about business, and perhaps most importantly, about people. Here are some things we’ve learned.
People would much rather spend time running their own businesses than managing real estate.
So when we craft for our clients a space that adequately fulfills their needs, that allows them the peace of mind to focus on what counts – their business – then we’ve accomplished what we’ve set out to do.
Finding a workspace is not a mechanical and mathematical process.
Even though we might occasionally sound like real estate brokers, we are not real estate brokers. We don’t take Business A and put it in Space B. Ours is a business of listening and thinking; of finding ways of meeting the needs of both the individual and the business – and building, moulding, or adapting a space until we’ve met those needs. It sounds easier when you say it.
The most important things in a workspace are not what people think are the most important things.
There are a litany of unique specifications that a business may need to conduct their day-to-day operations. But what they usually don’t specify are things like good air and low utility bills, good insulation and natural lighting. It’s only when you don’t have them that you realize how important they are. Our job is to make sure you never come to that realization.

Developing and leasing property is not a once-only, single transaction; it’s an ongoing relationship between you and the people that you place in those properties. So if anything should arise, we will be there on-site, in person, to fix it. And we will stay there until it is fixed.
