Bluefrog 134 Awarded LEED® Certification
19 May, 2017, Dartmouth NS – East Port Properties is pleased to announce that Bluefrog 134, in the Bluefrog Business Park, has achieved LEED® Certification
Bluefrog 134 is one of four low-rise buildings in the Bluefrog Business Campus built for and around people – with daylighting, superior indoor air quality, efficient energy use inside the buildings, surrounded by walking trails, wildlife, lakes, and a community garden on the grounds of the Campus.
“We’re proud of this achievement because it is independent recognition and confirmation by the Canada Green Building Council that we have built to the highest green standards in the commercial building industry,” said Judy Wall, President, East Port Properties. “We have achieved this certification by thoughtful and careful attention to designing buildings that are livable, sustainable, and highly energy efficient.”
This marks the eighth LEED® Certified building developed and managed by East Port Properties and the seventh (including one LEED® Gold certification) in the past four months.
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) is a rating system that is recognized as the international mark of excellence for green building in over 160 countries. Since 2002, the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) and LEED® Canada have been redefining the buildings and communities where Canadians live, work, and learn. LEED® works because it recognizes that sustainability should be at the heart of all buildings – in their design, construction, and operation. Since 2004, the CaGBC has certified over 2,800 LEED® buildings in Canada and registered over 5,000 – with the second-highest number of LEED® projects anywhere in the world.
