BOMA NL Announces Commercial Real Estate Awards at Gala

30th May, 2019, St. John’s, NL: The Building Owners and Managers Association of Newfoundland & Labrador (BOMA NL) announced the winners of the prestigious 2019 Industry Awards, recognizing excellence in Newfoundland and Labrador’s commercial real estate, at their Awards Gala on Wednesday afternoon.

Peter Upshall, President of BOMA NL, congratulated all award winners: “Today’s event is truly a celebration of excellence for all award finalists. We congratulate each and every finalist for continually raising the bar and setting new levels of excellence within the industry.”

The awards cycle consists of three levels. Competition begins at the BOMA local level with qualified entries advancing on to the national level and, finally, qualified national winners advancing to the international level.

BOMA Category Descriptions

BOMA BEST Certificate – Platinum certifies that a building has achieved the highest possible ratings for property management, operations, resource conservation, environmental awareness and practices, building design, tenant engagement and community involvement.

Sustainable Workplaces Certificate certifies that a tenant company has developed policies, goals, programs and reporting systems to measure, track, and reduce their environmental impact.

Pinnacle Award for Customer Service recognizes and promotes customer service excellence in the commercial real estate industry.

Earth Award – Retail recognizes and promotes the high levels of achievement in resource preservation and environmentally sound commercial building management in the retail sector.

Earth Award – Office recognizes and promotes the high levels of achievement in resource preservation and environmentally sound commercial building management in office buildings.

Award of Excellence salutes the stars of the commercial real estate industry, recognizing excellence in property management, operations, resource conservation, environmental awareness, leasing and building design, customer service and innovation.

Company of the Year Award recognizes a company that has demonstrated a strong commitment to BOMA Newfoundland & Labrador through monetary contributions, participation on various BOMA Newfoundland committees, and initiatives, both on the local and national level, committee that support the industry, etc.

President’s Award is presented to a person who has provided an outstanding contribution to BOMA Newfoundland and Labrador. The award is for exceptional leadership in serving our association and our members.
